Job Description
The Development Director plays a critical role in the success of the EA business. The DD is involved in shaping and executing our long-term technology vision in pursuit of our business goals. Through close collaboration with the product team, marketing, and advertising sales groups, they turn ideas and opportunities into reality.
- Manage, lead, inspire, recruit, develop, and support a team of 6 to 12 talented engineers and artists
- Drive the success of multiple simultaneous projects
- Collaborate with, communicate with, and please a diverse set of stakeholders
- Help the organization to scale and the business to grow
Requirements:
- Recent experience as a front line manager for an engineering team working on Web Frameworks or E-Commerce Platforms.
- Smart: picks up new, complicated, abstract concepts quickly.
- Unstoppable: self-motivated, overcomes obstacles independently, strong work ethic.
- Experience turning good engineers into great engineers with a passion for helping others to succeed.
- Success at building and retaining high talent, high morale, highly motivated engineering teams.
- Experience leading, scheduling, and tracking multiple concurrent complex software development projects with evolving requirements and competing priorities.
- Strong understanding of the software development cycle and how it relates to business needs.
- Excellent communicator; leads through consensus and relationship building. Demonstrated ability to navigate large organizations and communicate effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders from testers to executives, onsite to offsite, intra-division to extra-division.
- B.S in Computer Science or equivalent degree and over 5 years hands-on experience with object-oriented projects in Java and/or C++. Over 3 years of engineering lead experience in web application development.
